A daily plant identification quiz is five (or so) photographs that everyone sees the same day. Rosette’s Daily Five is that set for UK plants. In Bloom is the longer, month-weighted version.
Shared dailies work because you can say “I got four” without spoiling the names. Wordle taught the internet that habit. Plants already have a calendar — September’s verge is not April’s wood.
Daily Five
Same five species, same day, same region. No timer. Four names each. The score is a sentence you can share; the photographs stay on playrosette.com.
In Bloom
In Bloom prefers plants with a high month score from UK iNaturalist observations. That is a visibility proxy. It will not match a formal phenology garden plot, and it is weaker for grasses. The explanation lives on what’s flowering.
If you want unlimited practice, use Play. If you want the social object, use the Daily Five. Either way you are doing the same thing Kew asked for: looking, then naming.
